Cannon Siege — How to Play, Tips & Strategy
Two cannons, one beach, and a whole lot of flying sand. Cannon Siege is turn-based artillery in the classic style: pick an angle, judge the wind, and hope your shot lands before theirs does. Every crater you blast reshapes the battlefield for the rest of the match.

What is Cannon Siege?
Cannon Siege is a free browser artillery game where you and your opponent trade cannon fire across a fully destructible sand landscape. Each turn you set your shot's angle and power, factor in the wind gusting across the beach, and choose your ammunition: the standard ball, a triple shot that fires a spread of three, a heavy boulder that carves huge craters, or the unpredictable beach ball that bounces and rides the wind. Because the terrain deforms with every hit, no two turns play the same — dig your enemy out of cover, or bury them in it.

How to play
- Check the wind first. The wind indicator shows direction and strength for this turn. Strong wind can carry a perfect shot well past its target.
- Set your angle and power. Drag to aim (or fine-tune with keys) — higher arcs clear hills but drift more in the wind; flat shots are faster and truer.
- Pick your ammo. Standard for reliable damage, triple shot when you're close but not sure, boulder to excavate, beach ball to bounce over cover.
- Fire and watch the landing. Where your shot lands is your data for the next turn. Note how far the wind pushed it.
- Adjust and finish the job. Correct your angle or power based on the miss, and keep hammering until the enemy cannon is rubble.

Tips & strategy
- 🎯Bracket your shots. The oldest artillery trick: if you overshoot, your next shot should undershoot slightly. The target sits between your last two landings — walk your fire onto it.
- 💪Compensate power, not just angle. Against a headwind, adding power keeps your arc shape familiar; changing angle changes everything and resets what you've learned this match.
- 🌬️Fly low in high wind. The longer your shot hangs in the air, the more the wind owns it. When gusts are strong, flatten your trajectory and keep shots short and fast.
- 🪨Use the boulder as a shovel. A boulder that lands just in front of a dug-in enemy strips away their sand cover — the follow-up standard shot lands clean.
- 🎰Triple shot forgives error. When you've bracketed to "close but not exact," the triple's spread covers your uncertainty and usually lands at least one hit.
- 🏖️Bounce the beach ball over hills. It's light, wind-loving and bouncy — useless in a gale, brilliant for hopping a dune and rolling onto a target no direct arc can reach.
- ⛏️Dig yourself in. Terrain works both ways. Early in the match, land a shot or two just in front of your own cannon to raise a lip of sand that eats incoming flat shots.
FAQ
Is Cannon Siege free?
Yes — free in your browser with no download or account. Load the page and fire away.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Touch-drag aiming feels great on a phone — drag from your cannon to set angle and power, then release to fire.
Does my progress save?
Your results and best performances are stored in your browser's local storage on this device. Clearing your browser's site data will erase them.
What do the ammo types do?
Triple shot fires a three-ball spread for near-miss insurance, the boulder digs massive craters through cover, and the beach ball bounces and drifts on the wind to reach sheltered targets.
Does the terrain really change?
Yes — every impact permanently reshapes the sand. Craters, trenches and collapsed dunes stay for the rest of the match, so the battlefield you finish on looks nothing like the one you started with.
